Friend vs acquaintance

 A friend vs acquaintance

Acquaintance. A person whom we know well enough to borrow from, but not well enough to lend to.

It amazes me that with social media, it’s the number of “likes” that seem to matter and not the number of “loves.”

Facebook would be more legitimate if they not only listed your “friends” on your home page, but also your “acquaintances.” I dare to say that the friends list would be a lot more shorter than the acquaintances list.

Most friendships developed over an extended period of time. Friendships are cemented with random acts of kindness. Seldom is retribution a condition of friendships.

On the other hand, acquaintances are like passing ships in the night, with little or no impact on the relationship.

Friends share events and rush to accommodate, acquaintances avoid intimacy and rarely create bonds.

Friends build a relationship based on trust, acquaintances attempt a relationship based on obligation.

Friends have a telephone conversation, acquaintances have a texting conversation..

Friends don’t consider wealth as a condition, acquaintances use wealth as a condition..
